Mouawad, the notable high-end jewellery maison founded in Lebanon in 1890, has entered in a partnership with Miss Universe and Little Miss Universe organizations to craft Miss Universe and Little Miss Universe crowns. This first official Miss Universe and Little Miss Universe diamond crowns by Mouawad are both made in 18K gold and each set with 1770 diamonds, totalling approximately 334 carats in overall.
Each crown has a central stone of a 62.83 ct shield-shaped golden diamond that is flanked by two smaller pear-shaped diamonds cut from the same rough that was found in Botswana. Interestingly, this diamond in both outline and colour reminds the 407.48 ct Incomparable Diamond that Mouawad set on a record-breaking necklace a few years back. The crowns were dubbed “The Power of Unity” that, according to the jeweler, celebrates women and girls for being complex, diverse, unapologetically ambitious and strong.
